It’s been just over a week at home since finishing our regional run on The Reckoning Tour and it’s safe to say that all four of us are pretty eager to get back on the road. Of course we love coming home to relax, see loved ones and play with our animals, but lets be honest, nothing beats touring.

Since the release of Requiem we have had nothing but great feedback from new and old fans abroad and are enjoying touring and writing together more than we ever have before. The festival season is finishing up and I have to say, it was my favourite to date and to finish it off with Groovin’ The Moo is going to be a blast. This is our first time on the Festival and I have only heard good things about it and with Bendigo and Maitland already sold out, to say we’re excited is an understatement. To be able to get out to some of these towns on a festival alongside such acts as City and Colour, Andrew W.K and Public Enemy is really going to be something to remember and we can not wait to see everyones faces and hopefully make some new friends along the way.

Next week we will head into our studio and begin rehearsals for the festival and our newly added side shows in Victoria, N.S.W and W.A.

Our set this time around will consist of a mixture of songs from Requiem and Other Voices, Other Rooms and possibly even some older material for our long lasting fans.

The 11 date regional tour has finally come to an end.

Getting the chance to come out to different suburbs all over the east coast of Australia is a great way for us to establish a busy touring schedule and an insight into where our fans come from. A big thank you to all the bands, crew, friends and fans new and old that came and helped make this happen.

This year we have covered just over 17 000 kms touring ‘Requiem’ around Australia and should be close to doubling that by the middle of the year.

Groovin the Moo festival is only around the corner and takes us to parts of Australia that bands rarely get a chance to play, another step in our goal to get our music out to every corner of the country.

The unfortunate cancellation of Sonisphere festival in U.K means we are now looking for new ways to get our music beyond Australia and new doors are opening everyday. We have no doubt this is only a minor set back and that it’s only a matter of time before another opportunity comes our way.

Here is to looking to the future with you all, whatever part of the world you are from.

It’s been almost a whole year since we left for Canada to start making Requiem. Time certainly flies when you live a life like ours. It feels like yesterday that we were stuck playing these songs in the confines of our rehearsal room and whilst we haven’t done a huge amount of touring since the release, it already feels like the record has such strong momentum. Every day we can feel the love for Requiem growing stronger and its truly gratifying for us.

I’ve had a lot of people approach me and tell me that Requiem is a ‘slow-burner’ and that at first, they didn’t quite understand what we were trying to do, but after a few listens it all makes sense. A huge amount of time and energy went in to these songs and this record, so it’s only natural that it would take some time to grasp. Those comments are quite flattering too, because for me, all of my favourite records are the ones that I have to struggle with at first. The record was never intended to win you over right away. If we wanted to do that we could have easily written 12 Where the City Meets The Sea reprises!

Anyway, we’re currently three quarters of our way through The Reckoning tour and in my opinion, these have been some of the funnest shows we’ve played to date. We’re also lucky enough to on the road with the best humans/band in the world, Gatherer, so PMA is sky high and we’re loving touring more than ever. We finish up the final leg, starting in QLD this Thursday, and we get the opportunity to play some places that we never have before, so we’re excited to see some new (and old) faces.
